Premiere of new work for E flat Clarinet in Poland PDF Print E-mail

clarimania2015Jenni's newest work Stardust for solo E-flat clarinet will receive its premiere by Elizabeth Crawford during the 2015 Clarimania Festival in Wroclaw, Poland - April 15-18, 2015.  This work is inspired by songs from the 20', 30's, and 40's, and explores the colors and beauty of the E-flat clarinet as a solo instrument.  This work was commissioned by Elizabeth.

I. A Love of My Own (inspired by Blue Moon by Rodgers and Hart)

II. Into the Blue Sky (Inspired by Blue Skies by Irving Berlin

III. A Paper Moon (Inspired by It's Only a Paper Moon by Harold Arlen)

IV. A Stardust Melody (Inspired by Stardust by Hoagy Carmichael)

 

This work will also be performed during the Clarinetfest Festival in Madrid, Spain this summer.

Graphite Publishing 3rd Annual Commissioning Consortium


Graphite Publishing is looking for choirs who love to support the creation of new music to join us in our 3rd Annual Commissioning Consortium this year! We have commissioned two of our composers, Paul Ayres and Jenni Brandon to each write a piece for SA choir and piano.

The scores will be delivered to each participating choir by August 15, 2015, and they will have exclusive access to the pieces during the 15-16 academic year. Depending on participation levels, we hope to keep the cost at $250-400 per choir.

Guest composer at Heidelberg University in Ohio PDF Print E-mail

Jenni is a featured guest composer during Heidelberg University's New Music Festival this weekend.  Come hear works by Jenni and composer Bret Bohman as well as performances by faculty and visiting ensemble the Delphi Trio.

Update on current projects PDF Print E-mail

Jenni's Current Projects:

Final editing of score and parts for We Are Joy, a work commissioned by the Long Beach Camerata Singers under the direction of Dr. Robert Istad.  This work, with original text by Oliver Mayer, will receive its world premiere in October of 2015 in Long Beach, California. More details to come!

A new work for Flute choir and SATB choir commissioned by the Holland Chorale under the direction of Meredith Bowen, Ars Voce under the direction of Mark Wells, and the West Michigan Flute Association under the direction of Julie Sooy. Original text written by Oliver Mayer celebrates the Latino community in West Michigan as well as the spirit of the Latino culture in the United States. 

Double Helix for bassoon and piano was just completed by Jenni and was commissioned by bassoonist Christin Schillinger.  This work draws its inspiration from the sculpture of the same name by Long Beach sculptor Susan Hawkins. This work will receive its premiere this summer.

 

New work published by Imagine Music PDF Print E-mail

Colored Stones

Colored Stones for solo bassoon is now published by Imagine Music Publishing! This work is the winner of the 2014 Bassoon Chamber Music Composition Competition and will be featured as a competition piece during the 2016 Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition and Bassoon Symposium.

This work is now recorded on the new MSR Classics release Elements  which features the winning works of the BCMCC from 2012 & 2014.
