Yoga Teaching Experience and Practice
•    I have practiced yoga since 2010, studying styles such as Hatha, Flow, and Ashtanga Yoga.
•    I received my formal 200-hour and 300-hour teacher training certificate from Kava Yoga in Long Beach where our curriculum included a study of asana and adjustments, Ayurveda, yogic philosophy, the art of teaching, sequencing, meditation, pranyama, and chakras.

•     I received my 85-hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training certificate in July 2013, studying with Jennifer More.
•    Since 2012 I have taught levels 1 and 2 of Hatha and Flow Yoga, All-levels Yoga, Gentle Restorative Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga, both in the studio and in private sessions.
•    Yoga teachers include Cindy Zackney, Andrea Morgan, Jennifer More, Sati Ah

Teaching Style
•    I believe in a supportive and precise focus to my teaching, providing guidance in the breath, the movements, and the alignment of poses.  I strongly believe in hands-on adjustments to both help students avoid injury as well as to get the most out of a pose through proper alignment.
•    I like to incorporate the yogic philosophies into my classes, offering not only guidance to help students set an intention in class, but to encourage students to use this intention and focus in their daily lives.
•    I believe in a balanced approach to sequencing which includes warming up the body through gentler poses, often starting on the floor and moving towards standing.   Then I move into the more heated portion of the sequence which usually includes sun salutations, standing poses, inversions, twists, and back bends.  Finally I move the students towards cooling down through seated poses, twists, shoulder stand, etc., and finally moving into savasana at the end.
•    As a music composer and conductor I believe in the power of music and words I will usually close my class with a mantra.  For example, I enjoy singing the Gayatri Mantra at the end of class, and I also believe in incorporating beautiful and uplifting music throughout my classes.
