Love Songs for Soprano and Oboe to be performed at Ball State University

Jenni's new work Love Songs, commissioned by Aryn Day Sweeney - Assistant professor of music performance (oboe) at Ball State University with soprano Yoko Shimazaki-Kilburn-soprano and Instructor of Music Performance at Ball State University, will be performed during the 2014 Society of Composers National Conference at Ball State University on
Thursday, March 20th, 2014 at 10 am.  

The work will use texts of the Native American Indians to tell a love story of family, romance, loss of love, and the love of the land.

Commission from Vox Femina for new Women's Choral Work!

Jenni has been commissioned by Vox Femina Los Angeles to write a new work for the 2013-2014 season.  This work will be featured on the concert Half the Sky: Hear Our Voices

This exciting new work "We Are Home"  for women's voices, percussion, and piano will feature texts, poems, stories written by the women of Vox and compiled and arranged by Jenni.

Winner of the Women Composers Festival of Hartford Composition Competition

Jenni is the winner of the Women Composers Festival of Hartford 2014 International Composition Competition.  Her work In the City at Night for solo English horn will be performed by Charles Huang of Oboe Agosto during the festival.  The festival will take place March 5-9 throughout the town of Hartford, Connecticut.

Ceora Winds recorded"Spider Suite"

Ceora Winds (Michelle Matsumune - flute, Heather Millette - clarinet, and Christin Webb - bassoon) have finished recording Jenni's work Spider Suite for their upcoming CD â€œFragments: Snapshots from the Americas."  This CD will include works either written for them or works on which they have worked closely with the composer.  Jenni spent several days in the recording studio with them and the CD is currently being edited!
